Do not forget that all unique business entities need to obtain an EIN, otherwise known as an employer identification number. Simply go to the Internal Revenue Service website and apply online. Or, you can apply by fax or telephone.
Knowledge of your specific geographic area is key here since land-use regulations and rules differ by state, municipality, and county/town. We recommend getting to know the state and town personnel, including the state inspectors, who you will work on licensing and zoning with, as this will help you not only as you get established, but further down the road.
